Κώστας Μαλιάτσης

Kostas Maliatsis Salas is a Greek-Chilean stand-up comedian, writer, presenter and online creator. Trained as a dentist before committing to comedy, he first built an audience through Greek-language internet video and then became one of the performers who helped stand-up develop a larger, younger public in Greece. His stage career grew through comedy competitions, collaborative shows and touring productions. Along the way he worked with comedians including Mikeius, Jeremy, Vyron Theodoropoulos, Ilias Fountoulis and Michalis Mathioudakis, while developing solo material around everyday behaviour, relationships, public life and the absurdities of contemporary Greece. Maliatsis also created Losantzele, an Athens comedy club and production space developed with Kyriakos Balaskas and their team. The venue became a base for his own shows as well as a platform for other comedians, podcasts and recorded comedy projects. His work moves easily between the theatre, YouTube, radio and live-event hosting, but stand-up remains its centre. The delivery is conversational and energetic, using personal stories and topical observations without separating the performer on stage from the online personality through which much of his audience first discovered him.
