Melina Paxinos Quartet "Muses"
Hosted by HALF NOTE JAZZ CLUB
Composer and saxophonist Melina Paxinos presents her new album "Muses", a contemporary jazz work with neoclassical influences inspired by Surrealism and interwar artistic avant-garde. The album is conceived as an imaginary artistic salon where music, painting, photography and literature converge, with each composition connected to one of Paxinos's artistic muses including André Breton, Lee Miller, René Magritte, Tamara de Lempicka and Leonard Cohen. The album features Paxinos's arrangement of Leonard Cohen and Sharon Robinson's "A Thousand Kisses Deep". The Melina Paxinos Quartet performs the album live, bringing its cinematic and surrealist world to the stage.
