Giorgos Beberis: Sea in Common

Pianist and composer Giorgos Beberis, based in Rotterdam, presents his album Sea in Common at Half Note Jazz Club, a stop on his European tour across seven countries. The project merges Greek and Mediterranean musical traditions with contemporary jazz in the East-Mediterranean Jazz idiom, pairing traditional violin and Cretan lyre with a jazz piano trio. Melodies, rhythms and improvisation form bridges between different musical traditions. Born from Beberis's travels through the Mediterranean and Balkans, the work captures shared moments where people speaking different languages connect through music.
