A Different Thebes returns this summer for a limited tour of open-air theatres. This acclaimed production, created by Theatre of the New World and directed by Vangelis Theodoropoulos, has established itself as one of Greece's most celebrated plays in recent years. It is based on Sergio Blanco's multi-award-winning work. The play centers on a writer who meets a young patricide in prison, exploring themes of identity, oppression, violence, and crime through references to the myth of Oedipus and Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment. After four consecutive sold-out seasons and two successful nationwide tours reaching over 250,000 spectators, the production returns. The cast features stars Thanos Lekka and Dimitris Kapourani in their original roles.
