Η Καρυάτιδα by Giorgos Kapoutidis - Tour

Η Καρυάτιδα! is an acerbic comedy by Giorgos Kapoutidis that captivated audiences with its biting humor and pointed critique of Greek reality. After two years of successful runs at REX and KAPPA Theatre, the production embarks on a summer tour across Greece. The play explores what happens when Greece's lost sixth Caryatid returns home, triggering a collision between national emotion and political chaos. Directed by Katerina Mavrogiorgi with sharp timing and comedic precision, it portrays a nation capable of profound sentiment and simultaneous self-sabotage. The work combines theatrical invention with ruthless satire, using laughter to reveal the country's reflexes, contradictions and national quirks with surgical accuracy. Through its exceptional theatrical premise, the comedy becomes a portrait of a country that can transform grandeur into fiasco and fiasco into spectacle.
