Aristophanes' classic comedy Peace arrives at Damari Theatre as part of a nationwide tour, directed by Nikos Karathaanos with original adaptation, text and songs by Phoivos Delivorias. This production presents the ancient play as a vibrant, political response to war, employing music, collective spirit and folk celebration. Written during the Peloponnesian War but speaking to contemporary crises, the comedy reveals timeless mechanisms of endless conflict benefiting few while harming many. The new staging interprets Peace as a lost rural world's festival and popular rebellion against the irrationality of warfare.
