This is a tour production of Aristophanes' 'Peace,' directed and conceived by Nikos Karathantos, with adaptation, original text and songs by Phoebus Delihvoryis. The production premiered at Epidaurus Ancient Theatre in July 2026, reaching over 15,700 spectators across two performances. The adaptation presents the ancient comedy as a vibrant, political response to the chaos of warfare. It features the vital force of music, collective joy and popular celebration. Aristophanes' original work, written during the Peloponnesian War, examines society's obsession with conflict and its destructive impact on daily life and human happiness. This touring production brings the timeless themes of the classical text to selected cities throughout Greece, offering a contemporary reading that remains relevant to modern struggles against violence and conflict.
