Εγώ ο Σέρ, Γρηγόρης Μπιθικώτσης
Hosted by Christmas Theater
A musical theatre performance by Dimitri Malissova investigates the life of Gregori Vithikotsis, the voice that shaped Greece. The production follows the young plumber from Peristeri who endured poverty, war, exile and heartbreak before becoming one of Greek music's most influential figures. Through songs that marked generations, the performance traces his journey from humble dreams to major collaborations with Mikis Theodorakis and Stavro Xarchakos. The narrative weaves together testimonies, music and pivotal moments to illuminate both Vithikotsis' personal struggles and Greece's modern historical path. A contemporary journalist on stage witnesses the unfolding of this life, encountering the man behind the legend. The performance brings past and present into dialogue, transforming memory into lived experience. Vithikotsis emerges as more than a historical figure: a husband, father, friend and voice that continues to resonate across generations.
