The Aischyleia Festival returns for its 52nd edition, organized by the Municipality of Eleusis since 1975. Despite its historic origins, the festival continues with youthful energy to bring cultural vitality to western Attica. The program features theatrical performances, concerts spanning multiple genres, art exhibitions and film screenings. This year events take place at the IRIS cultural complex, a former factory site on Eleusis waterfront. The venue retains distinctive industrial architecture from the interwar period, including a chimney and two heritage-listed factory buildings. The transformed space now serves as a cultural hub for both residents and visitors. The festival reflects Eleusis' role as European Cultural Capital 2023, building on its historic legacy while shaping its cultural future.
