Nightstalker

Nightstalker are a Greek heavy rock band formed in Athens in 1989 by vocalist and original drummer Argy Galiatsatos. Their core identity began taking shape after bassist Andreas Lagios joined in 1992, combining massive guitar riffs, forceful bass grooves, psychedelic atmosphere and the raw directness of rock ’n’ roll with elements of funk and grunge. The band introduced their sound with the Side FX EP in 1994, followed by their first full-length album, Use, in 1996. The darker and increasingly psychedelic The Ritual EP arrived in 2000, before Just a Burn and Superfreak helped establish Nightstalker as one of the defining names of the Greek heavy rock underground. Their international reputation continued to grow through extensive touring and appearances alongside artists including Ramones and Uriah Heep. Albums such as Dead Rock Commandos, As Above, So Below and Great Hallucinations strengthened their status as pioneers of the Greek stoner rock scene, producing enduring songs including Children of the Sun, Dead Rock Commandos and Sweet Knife. In 2025, Nightstalker released their seventh studio album, Return From the Point of No Return, through Heavy Psych Sounds. The record expanded their familiar combination of blues-laden riffs, hypnotic grooves, psychedelic passages and Argy’s commanding vocals into a heavier and more atmospheric form. With a career spanning more than three decades, Nightstalker are widely regarded as one of the foundational bands of Greek heavy and stoner rock.
