Θέλω Να Σου Κρατάω Το Χέρι - Περιοδεία

Inspired by the Beatles' 1963 recording 'I Want to Hold Your Hand', which became a 1964 hit, this contemporary theatrical work premiered at one of Athens' historic theatres in 2021. The play depicts marriage fatigue and the crisis that emerges after years of cohabitation. Infidelity and secret hotel encounters provide the setting for two complex characters who are parents. Both protagonists have equal rights, yet both have made mistakes. The production examines human relationships and emotional needs, central themes in world drama. It balances laughter and tears, inviting audiences to discover an essential truth: that what we ultimately seek is genuine companionship, someone to hold our hand.

Ανεξάρτητα Κράτη is a journalistic drama by Antonis Tsiotsiopoulos and Giorgos Paloumpis, inspired by the true story of Dr. Vasilis Tsirones during Greece's early post-dictatorship period. The production has secured substantial critical acclaim and established itself as a significant work of contemporary Greek dramatic writing. Set within newspaper offices following the doctor's death, the narrative follows fictional journalist Maria Theofilu investigating the circumstances of his death. The play explores themes of truth-seeking and women's agency in a male-dominated professional environment. The work delivers sharp political critique, examining the entanglement of media and state power in Greece. Through rapid pacing, raw realism and compelling performances, it probes institutional constraint against individual liberty.

Ειρήνη Περιοδεία

Aristophanes' classic comedy Peace arrives at Damari Theatre as part of a nationwide tour, directed by Nikos Karathaanos with original adaptation, text and songs by Phoivos Delivorias. This production presents the ancient play as a vibrant, political response to war, employing music, collective spirit and folk celebration. Written during the Peloponnesian War but speaking to contemporary crises, the comedy reveals timeless mechanisms of endless conflict benefiting few while harming many. The new staging interprets Peace as a lost rural world's festival and popular rebellion against the irrationality of warfare. With its satirical wit and urgency, the production addresses ongoing cycles of violence and insecurity. The work's assertion that ordinary citizens can demand peace, even against those in power, remains absolutely timely in a world where invasions, violence and cynicism continue to be presented as inevitable.
