Full Moon Film Marathon: Kubrick

The Full Moon Film Marathon returns for an all-night Kubrick tribute, screened outdoors at the Xefoto clearing in Stavros Niarchos Park. The bill runs four films back to back: Dr. Strangelove, 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange and The Shining. That is Cold War satire, a trip past Jupiter, a study of violence and free will, and a haunted hotel, all from one director in a single sitting. Bring something to sit on, pace yourself, and watch four of the most argued-over films ever made under an open sky.

Parklife: Beatles Symphonic

The National Symphony Orchestra and Choir of ERT, under conductor Michalis Oikonomou, turn the Beatles into a full symphonic program. Expect "Let It Be," "Yesterday," "Hey Jude," "Come Together" and "Here Comes the Sun," rebuilt for orchestra and choir rather than a four-piece band. It runs as part of Parklife, outdoors on the Xefoto lawn at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, with Aperol as the sponsor. Entry is free, which makes it an easy call: songs you already know by heart, arranged for strings and voices instead of guitars.

Parklife: Leonard Cohen Tribute

The Parklife concert series presents a distinct tribute to Leonard Cohen, poet, writer and songwriter who shaped international music and literary culture. Cohen developed a distinctive personal style exploring existential, romantic and spiritual themes. His catalogue, from Suzanne and Bird on the Wire to Famous Blue Raincoat and Hallelujah, fundamentally influenced folk and pop music. Greece and Hydra held special significance in his artistic life as a refuge for inspiration. This concert features his son Adam Cohen alongside Greek artists interpreting Cohen's repertoire through different approaches.
