Zamna Soundsystem

Zamna Soundsystem is an electronic-music collective created around the artistic world of Zamna Festival and Zamna Records. Official listings identify the project with Italy, while its members and activity also reflect Maltese and Tulum-based connections. The collective launched through Zamna Records and built its catalogue around house, techno and melodic techno. Its music translates the large-scale, open-air character of the festival into a recording and touring project rather than functioning simply as a name for the event itself. Zamna Soundsystem is a continuing act, not a one-off back-to-back billing. Official material describes a three-person collective whose live configuration may feature two or three members depending on their individual commitments; The Element is one publicly identified member of the project. That flexible line-up is part of the project’s design. Whether appearing at a Zamna production or on an external club and festival bill, the act represents a shared sound and catalogue while allowing different combinations of its members to perform under the same name.
