TAF LATHOS is a Greek rapper, beatmaker, producer and sound engineer born Panagiotis Kyriakou in Athens. Active since 2001, he belongs to the generation that helped Greek independent hip-hop grow beyond small underground circles without surrendering its emphasis on lyricism, personal expression and artistic control.
He first became widely known through Psychodrama 07, one of the most influential crews of the Greek underground, while simultaneously developing his own identity as an MC and producer. His writing is characterised by introspection, social observation and detailed personal storytelling, often examining memory, fear, identity, human relationships and the struggle to remain honest within an increasingly impersonal society.
TAF LATHOS is also the founder of Bashment Records, an independent collective that developed into a record label, recording studio and meeting point for a wider community of artists. Through Bashment, he created an infrastructure around his music rather than depending entirely on the established recording industry, supporting younger voices while maintaining control over his own productions and releases.
His solo discography spans more than two decades and includes Itan Periergi Katastasi, Mono Me Chroma, Elpida, DECA, Akarea and Xoris Na Ntrepomai. The albums document a continuous expansion of his sound, moving from sample-based and boom-bap-rooted hip-hop towards soul, funk, live instrumentation, atmospheric production and elements of Greek traditional music.
Released in 2019, DECA became one of his most ambitious projects. The album was accompanied by a medium-length film that visualised the entire work, connecting its songs through a continuous cinematic narrative rather than treating its videos as unrelated promotional material. Akarea followed in 2023, featuring twelve tracks and collaborations with artists and musicians including Good Job Nicky, Fotis Siotas, Inner.D. and Magma Dee.
In 2025, TAF LATHOS released Xoris Na Ntrepomai, marking approximately twenty years of recorded work. The album continued his combination of personal confession and wider social reflection, while an extensive anniversary tour presented material from across his catalogue alongside DJ Micro.
His wider career includes recordings made in Athens and Tokyo, collaborations with Stavros Xarchakos and Dimitra Galani, and performances alongside international artists including Damian Marley, Cypress Hill, Wu-Tang Clan and Monophonics. He has also reworked his material for a full live band, demonstrating that his compositions can function beyond their original beat-driven arrangements.
TAF LATHOS occupies a distinctive position in Greek hip-hop: simultaneously an underground veteran, independent organiser, producer and widely recognised live performer. Rather than following the commercial transformations of Greek rap from a distance, he has continued to evolve within them while preserving a body of work centred on language, musicality and emotional honesty.
