Seksendört are a Turkish pop-rock band formed in Ankara in 1999. Growing up with the alternative rock, punk and Seattle sounds of the 1990s, the group developed a melodic guitar-based style centred on emotional lyrics, powerful choruses and themes of separation, longing and regret.
Their self-titled debut album was released in 2005. Its breakthrough song, Ölürüm Hasretinle, spread rapidly online before the band fully understood how widely it had circulated, becoming one of Turkey’s earliest major internet-driven music successes and establishing Seksendört nationally.
The band followed with K.G.B. in 2008 and Akıyor Zaman in 2011. Songs including Kendime Yalan Söyledim, Hayır Olamaz, Söyle and Şimdi Hayat strengthened their position within Turkish rock, while the 2012 collaboration Rüya with Hande Yener brought their music to an even broader pop audience.
Later releases include Faili Meçhul, Acemiler, Yorma, Anlayamazsın, Yara and the three-track Bir Aşk EP, released through Sony Music Turkey in 2024. After guitarist Arif Erdem Ocak returned, the band reunited its established lineup and continued with acoustic recordings and renewed touring activity.
In 2026, Seksendört marked twenty years since the release of their debut album with anniversary concerts featuring guests from the contemporary Turkish rock scene. Across their career, they have remained known for combining accessible pop songwriting with the direct emotional character and guitar weight of alternative rock.
