SAINT LEVANT is the stage name of Palestinian–French–Algerian singer, rapper and songwriter Marwan Abdelhamid. Born in Jerusalem and raised first in Gaza and later in Amman, he developed a multilingual musical identity shaped by Palestinian displacement, Algerian heritage and his experience moving between Arab, European and American cultures.
He began releasing music in 2020, initially using hip-hop and spoken commentary to address Palestine, exile and Arab identity. His international breakthrough came in 2022 with Very Few Friends, whose fluid movement between Arabic, English and French established the intimate, conversational style that became central to his work.
The 2023 project From Gaza, With Love expanded that sound through atmospheric R&B, rap and Arabic melodic elements. His debut full-length album, DEIRA, followed in 2024. Named after his family’s hotel in Gaza, the record explored home, memory and the Palestinian right of return while incorporating Palestinian folk references, Algerian chaabi, raï, contemporary R&B and multilingual pop. Its collaborators included MC Abdul, Kehlani, Cheb Bilal, TIF and Sol Band.
Love Letters arrived in 2025, presenting a more romantic and introspective side of his writing while continuing to connect Palestinian and Algerian musical traditions with modern Arab pop. Songs including Daloona, Kalamantina, Diva and Exile further expanded his audience across the Middle East and the international Arab diaspora.
In 2026, SAINT LEVANT released AFANDI, a twelve-track album drawing from classic Arab-pop aesthetics, contemporary R&B and polished modern production. Across his catalogue, his use of Arabic, French and English is more than a stylistic device: it reflects a life divided between cultures, places and different ideas of home. His music brings Palestinian identity into global pop without reducing it solely to political testimony, balancing displacement and resistance with romance, humour, ambition and celebration.
