Parra for Cuva is the recording project of German electronic producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Nicolas Demuth. Based in Berlin, he began studying classical piano as a child before moving into jazz improvisation, electronic production and audio design. This musical background remains central to his work, in which piano-led compositions, detailed electronic textures and acoustic instrumentation are combined with downtempo rhythms and melodic house structures.
Demuth began releasing music as Parra for Cuva during the early 2010s. He gained wider international attention through his collaboration with vocalist Anna Naklab on Wicked Games, an electronic reinterpretation of Chris Isaak’s Wicked Game. Rather than following that success with conventional dance-pop productions, he developed a more atmospheric and exploratory catalogue shaped by field recordings, live musicians and instruments including strings, percussion, guitars, kalimba and piano.
His debut album, Majouré, was released in 2015, followed by the collaborative Darwîś, Paspatou, Juno and Mimose. Across these records, Parra for Cuva moved between ambient electronica, broken rhythms, organic house and cinematic downtempo, frequently collaborating with vocalists and instrumentalists from different musical traditions.
His sixth studio album, Nacar, arrived in 2026. Written and recorded partly while travelling through Mexico, Japan, Italy and Costa Rica, the album incorporates field recordings, live percussion, strings and collaborations with artists including Nathan Ball, CRi, orbit, PALLADIAN, Aukai, Vines, Vraell and Cile. It expands his characteristic balance of intimate headphone music and rhythmically driven electronic performance.
Through his albums and audiovisual live sets, Parra for Cuva has established a distinctive form of melodic electronica that values atmosphere, organic sound and emotional progression over rigid club formulas.
