Pan-Pot are a German techno duo formed by DJs and producers Tassilo Ippenberger and Thomas Benedix. The pair met while studying audio engineering at Berlin’s SAE Institute in 2003, where their shared interest in techno led them to begin producing music together.
After early releases through Einmaleins Musik and Anja Schneider’s Mobilee label, Pan-Pot established their international reputation with their 2007 debut album Pan-O-Rama. Balancing forceful club tracks with deeper and more experimental electronic production, the album included Charly, one of the defining tracks of their early career. Subsequent releases such as Confronted, Captain My Captain and Gravity strengthened their position within Berlin’s expanding techno scene.
In 2014, Pan-Pot founded Second State, an independent label created as a platform for their own work and a wider community of techno artists. Their second studio album, The Other, followed in 2015, expanding their sound through vocal collaborations, atmospheric passages and styles extending beyond conventional peak-time techno. Later releases including Funke, Weltlinie, Radio Berlin, Voodoo Signs and Skin on Skin continued their combination of driving rhythms, detailed sound design and large-scale dancefloor energy.
Alongside their studio work, Pan-Pot have built a reputation through extended DJ sets at clubs and festivals including Time Warp, Awakenings and Creamfields. In 2025, they introduced HUMAN, a label and event concept designed to give the duo greater freedom to explore vocals, old-school rave influences, trance elements and more direct melodic ideas, while also restarting activity through Second State.
