Massano is a British DJ and electronic music producer from the outskirts of Liverpool, known for a forceful interpretation of melodic techno that combines aggressive sound design, hypnotic grooves and emotionally charged melodies. Born Sam Rose, he began producing music while studying at university, gradually developing his work from a personal interest into a professional career within Liverpool’s electronic music scene.
His first significant releases appeared through Running Clouds, including “Velocità” and “The Feeling.” The latter became an important breakthrough, receiving support from prominent DJs and helping establish Massano’s characteristic balance of dark, cinematic atmosphere and powerful club-focused production.
Massano’s international profile grew considerably after joining the catalogue of Afterlife, the label founded by Tale of Us. His debut release for the label, the In My System EP, reached number one on Beatport’s overall releases chart. Its track “Drown” entered the platform’s overall top ten, while all four tracks reached the top five of the Melodic House & Techno chart.
Further releases on Afterlife and Adam Beyer’s Drumcode strengthened his position within contemporary melodic techno. His catalogue includes the Shut Down EP, The Theory EP and tracks such as “The Feeling,” “Drown,” “Telepathic,” “The Lights” and “Natural.” He has also produced official remixes for artists including Depeche Mode, Röyksopp and The Chemical Brothers, and collaborated with musicians such as CamelPhat, Anyma, Argy, SOEL and Chris Avantgarde.
In 2023, Massano launched Simulate, his own record label and event concept. The project was created as a platform for futuristic electronic music and has allowed him to release his own productions while supporting other artists working across melodic techno and related styles. Simulate has subsequently expanded into branded events and audiovisual performances in several countries.
As a touring DJ, Massano has performed at major festivals, clubs and electronic music events including Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, Creamfields, Time Warp, Kappa FuturFestival, Printworks, The Warehouse Project and venues across Ibiza. His sets typically combine unreleased material, driving techno rhythms and expansive melodic passages, reflecting the high-energy production style that has defined his rapid rise within international electronic music.
