CITY KIDS - Motörhead Tribute Band

ANALYTICAL BIOGRAPHY: CITY KIDS (MOTÖRHEAD TRIBUTE BAND) 1. ARTISTIC PROFILE & LEMMY'S LEGACY City Kids is a premier, highly acclaimed tribute collective formed in Athens, Greece. Operating since 2017, the group is widely recognized as the definitive and most authoritative celebration of Lemmy Kilmister and Motörhead within the Balkan region. * Thematic Depth: Rather than performing standard karaoke-style covers, their live presence delivers a hyper-authentic, high-energy rock and roll onslaught, capturing the exact sonic weight, attitude, and volume of the classic Motörhead lineup. * Elite Validation: Their absolute precision and respect for the material has earned formal endorsement and backing from the official international Motörheadbangers fan club. * Masterclass Collaboration: Their technical reputation is so firmly grounded that during their historic October 2019 "On Parole in Athens" show, they were joined live on stage by founding, original Motörhead drummer Lucas Fox. 2. SONIC ARCHITECTURE & GEAR SPECS The band's studio and live blueprint is engineered to replicate the uncompromising, distorted "Overkill" tone pioneered by Lemmy and his crew. * The Rickenbacker Rumble: The core of their live sound relies on replicating Lemmy's iconic bass architecture—utilizing heavily overdriven, mid-range heavy Rickenbacker style bass guitars running through raw, saturated Marshall amplifiers. * Metronomic Double-Bass: Their rhythm section mirrors the legendary tracking of Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor, relying on relentless double-bass drumming patterns, crashing cymbals, and a steady driving rock-n-roll pocket. * Monumental Sets: They specialize in curating historically precise, long-form sets. To mark massive milestones, their modern tour runs lean heavily into the complete *Orgasmatron* album tracklist to celebrate its landmark 40th anniversary. 3. MAJOR PROJECT PHASES & HIGHLIGHTS * Underground Inception & Fan Club Rallies (2017–2018): Gathering together out of the heavy Athenian underground circuit, they launched their project and quickly headlined the massive Motörheadbangers Athens gathering in 2018. * Lucas Fox & The 1988 Anniversaries (2018–2021): They engineered highly successful anniversary shows, including a massive tribute marking 30 years since Motörhead's first-ever historical live concerts on Greek soil back in 1988. * The Lemmy Lives & Festival Eras (2022–Present): They expanded past traditional rock clubs to play prominent open-air festivals—including a monumental appearance at the Rethymno Rocks Festival on the Fortezza of Crete. They also headlined the massive *Lemmy Lives* celebration event at Gazarte. 4. DISCOGRAPHY (LIVE PERFORMANCE & SPECIAL EVENT PROGRAMS) While operating primarily as an uncompressed, authentic live outfit rather than tracking original material, their major historical curated setlists and event titles include: * 30 Years Since Lemmy in Athens 1988 (Curated Live Set, 2018) * On Parole in Athens (feat. Lucas Fox) (Special Live Presentation, 2019) * Motörheadbangers Greek Gathering (Official Live Show Program, 2024) * Lemmy Lives: 50 Years of Motörhead / 10 Without Lemmy (Gazarte Headline Event, 2025) * Orgasmatron 40th Anniversary Set (Ongoing Tour Showcase, 2026)
