Alkestis, presented by the National Theatre, is part of the Aischylia Festival. The festival showcases theatre, music, visual art exhibitions, and film screenings at the IRIS venue on Eleusis waterfront. The former IRIS factory has been transformed into a modern cultural space featuring characteristic industrial architecture from the interwar period, including a distinctive smokestack and two protected buildings. As the festival's 52nd edition continues to bring cultural vitality to western Attica, it reflects Eleusis's heritage as Europe's 2023 Cultural Capital. The event features theatrical performances, concerts, and screenings. Children's performances are suitable for ages 4 and up.
