PUSSY RIOT 'Riot Days' live in Athens

Pussy Riot, the legendary feminist collective that shook the world with their action against Putin's regime, brings their acclaimed show 'Riot Days' to Athens. Based on Masha Alyokhina's memoir of the same name, this hybrid work blends concert, theatre, performance art and political manifesto. The production traces the collective's history from their 2012 intervention at Moscow's Cathedral of Christ the Saviour through subsequent arrests, trials and imprisonment. Live music, spoken word, video and electronic elements dissolve the boundaries between art and politics. Since 2017, Riot Days has been performed over 400 times worldwide. The current iteration incorporates Alyokhina's escape from Russia, persecution of political opponents, the Ukrainian invasion and violence against LGBTQ+ communities.
